Riverside City College, in partnership with the Riverside County Probation Department, offers a paid internship opportunity that recruits each semester. The internship, which runs between 6-12 months in length, allows students to learn, observe, participate, and receive training within the Probation Department, including youth facilities and research services. Interns are provided the opportunity to receive paid training and experience while learning more about the professional opportunities within the Probation Department.

Student Eligibility Criteria:

  • Student must be at least 19.5 years old at date of application (19 years, 6 months)

  • Student will be required to be a U.S. Citizen (in order to successfully complete background investigation)

  • Student must be enrolled part-time or full-time as a student

  • Student must be an Administration of Justice major (or criminal justice or behavioral science related major)

  • Student must be enrolled at one of the Riverside Community College District Colleges

  • Student must have a minimum 2.5 GPA

  • Student must maintain enrollment during the entirety of their internship

  • Student must have successfully completed at least 24 units of college credit, including the following classes:
    -ADJ1 Introduction to Administration of Justice
    -ENG1A English Composition

Once the online application is completed, the student will receive an email with a link to Dropbox to upload these documents.

Internship Applications for Spring 2022 are Due by Friday, December 17th by 8:00pm PST.

Once your application is submitted and minimum qualifications for inclusion have been confirmed, students will be emailed a link to a Dropbox to submit the following required documents:

  • Resume

  • Unofficial Transcript

  • Recommendation Letter

These documents are required for consideration; any application missing these items will not be considered and the student will not participate in the internship.
